Start of summer

This post is just a little follow up to my suitcase post from a few days ago! I went to Northern Italy for a long weekend (Muggia & Trieste) to spend some time with the family. The forecast had predicted bad weather, and while it did rain, it was mostly sunny so I was able to enjoy a few warm days. Anyway, I'll keep this post short...enjoy some snaps and check back for more!

Acid Washing Denim Shorts!

So I was motivated by Dara's DIY Acid rinse denim tutorial on YouTube Click here to watch video and decided to acid rinse a pair of cheap shorts I bought from Primark that I don't ever wear! 
It was very simple to do, all you needed to do was cover the denim (well depending on how much you want to bleach) with some bleach (which you will probably have around the house) and leave it for 30mins! After checking up on your denim, once your happy with how it looks then you rinse it with water and then use washing up liquid to clean it up! Repeat and rinse until the water comes out clear.


I attempted to do a tie dye effect, instead of the whole thing being bleached, I guess it sort of worked. What do you think?

The shorts originally had this really ugly lace detailing on the hem of the shorts so I took them off (as well as the fake diamonds!!) and ended up with some decent shorts.

It actually took me an hour to bleach my shorts into the white colour I wanted. It depends on what colour denim (how dark the denim is) you started out with and how white you want your shorts! Have fun doing this to your shorts at home.

Holidaying

Hi! So just as the sun has decided to show up in England, after weeksss of rain, I'm off on holiday to catch some more rain. Yep, as I jet off to a little fishing town on the coast of Italy (Muggia to those of you in the know) the weather man tells me rain is moving from England onto the rest of Europe...Can I get a whoop whoop?!

Ugh, anyway, I like my glasses full so I've decide to be reallyyyyyy optimistic and pack no socks, umbrellas, sweaters or shoes. Just sandals and tees! I'm only gone for a long weekend (Thursday to Sunday) so I was limited to carry-on luggage...but take a look in my tiny bag below if ya want and click on the names of products to find the links of the products! Also expect some OOTD (outfits of the day) and pics of my holiday being posted soon.

D.I.Y Denim acid rinse tutorial

Hey! So today we've got another tutorial. This time it's on acid rinsing (bleaching) denim. It's just a short how-to on getting perfect acid effect on your faveourite jeans/denim jacket/shorts etceteraaa.

 If you liked the studding video Denny posted yesterday, you might consider first rinsing your jeans and then studding them! We're always thinking of you guys ;)

Exploring the Shops!

Hi everyone!
So yesterday me and Dara went shopping (yeeeee shopping!) and we got the chance to get away from school and have FREEDOM! Okay, now I'm just being over dramatic... 


Anyway, we didn't end up buying that much really. Dara bought some sun protection cream/lotion from Superdrug and I bought a bikini top from Hollister (which I hardly buy from but hey ho) as well as sushi from YoSushi! We had a good time browsing around shops and stuffing our faces in Starbucks too.

We started to do well food wise with me eating a nectarine (It was a squishy one... *sad face*) and Dara having a natural yoghurt with maple syrup from Starbucks. That was until we walked past the dessert food section in Selfridges. Dude, no one could stop and just do nothing! So we bought two slices of cake to share.

We then went into jack Wills and left them a friendly note, mwah hah haa. How mischievous of Dara!
Just to confirm, by 'double d' Dara means me and her (Dara&Denny)! 

Overall it was a great day, and although Denny and I didn't buy as much as we could of (or wanted to!) we both got plenty of ideas and plans for future purchases! The sun cream was a bargain buy at half price (just trying to justify my pathetic buy there...) and it will feature soon in a summer haul!

Introducing Denny & Dara!

Hello! Dara here (as shown by my use of non-italics). This is Urban Bible's first post and I just thought I'd introduce us. Me and Denny love fashion, art, D.I.Y and basically all things creative. We get inspired everyday, whether were walking down the streets or just staring into the clouds, and we want to share with you our inspirations through Urban Bible! 


We have different styles when it comes to fashion, although; we both tend to gravitate towards trendy pieces that are in season! Dara loves everything vintage (I love vintage home décor!) and has an eccentric taste! I guess I wear more 'street' fashion that you would see if you walked down a road in London. I'm not sure what my style is classed as! Well, that's a little info about us...

Here Dara is deeply concentrating on writing our first post for Urban Bible!  Just look at that dedication... Or is it because she doesn't have her glasses on? Hmmm
